Those of you who have used the X-CodrDesigns.com website in the past may notice the site has undergone some changes today, and may be wondering where certain things went, so I want to take a few moments to discuss some of them:
The end of a Forum
The forum on this site was a nice feature from my website provider, however after numerous spammers I disabled posting permissions. I've now entirely removed the forum, and it's corresponding members section. Additionally, all member's account data has been deleted.
This may seem like a negative thing, however in reality this is just cleanup. The forum got very little use, and there are much better alternatives (such as Discord, the X-Plane.org forum, and email). Removing the forum makes the website easier to manage, and consolidates support avenues and the community.
New Support Page
Arguably the most important change with these site changes is the new Support page. While small at the moment, this page will serve as a hub for all support articles, FAQs, and manuals going forward.
Currently, you can find manuals for all our products, as well as support articles on finding the community folder in MSFS, and how to edit your scenery_packs.ini in X-Plane.
Better Formatting!
Some of the prior formatting choices were... odd. Menus with different fonts, all the blog posts in bold (why?!) and the text on product pages being a nice vibrant blue... There's certainly still work to be done, and formatting improvements will continue, but some of the glaring issues like menu font are now fixed!
In conclusion, these changes simplify the website, consolidate support methods, and improve on the visual appeal of the site. I hope these changes help improve your experience on the site, and of course, if you have any questions/concerns, please always feel free to reach out!
