KEVV - Evansville Regional Airport V2.0

I'm very happy to announce that KEVV - Evansville Regional Airport V2.0 is available now! As always, this update is free for all current users!

KEVV, while one of my favorite sceneries, hasn't received much attention since it's last update in 2022, having it's updates pushed back repeatedly while bigger airports like KDEN, and new projects like A30 and Blue Canyon Nyack stole the spotlight. But upon examining a bug report, I realized KEVV really needed some attention. So, now, after over a month of work on improvements, it's finally KEVV's time to shine!

KEVV - Evansville Regional Airport V2.0 offers many improvements in terms of it's visual quality and usability, including a full rework of it's ground textures, a nearly completely remodeled and retextured terminal, with a highly detailed interior, new custom jetways that use the built in jetway animation system, and tons of other smaller improvements throughout!

Living Scenery Technology

One of the most exciting features of KEVV are it's new routes for Living Scenery Technology! Nearly 3 weeks ago I released a major update to my free Living Scenery Technology plugin that added new features such as collision avoidance, better control of datarefs for animations, and smooth acceleration and deceleration. KEVV was the test-bed for these new features, and includes many of them!

Now, as people walk into the terminal, doors will open and close for them. Cars will stop to avoid clipping through pedestrians, and the intersection to the airport parking lot is controlled, with vehicles obeying the traffic light. While not exclusively for KEVV, you can see many of these features in action in this trailer for LST:

X-Codr Designs Library V2.0

As you may also notice in the video, there are new 3D people! These are photo scanned assets I've purchased, that are far, far superior to the (frankly horrible) handmade assets I was using before. Using a flipbook animation technique (the same method used for animated flags), these people have realistic animations that look like skinned animations.

As many of you know, the X-Codr Designs Library exists to save you disk space by providing a single copy of assets that are used by multiple sceneries. But by extension, this also means improvements to those assets affect all sceneries, so, these new people will also immediately be visible at KDEN - Denver International Airport as soon as you update your X-Codr Designs Library, even if you don't own KEVV! So please, update your library to enjoy these new assets!
